DIY Grill for Barbecuing at Home ›

In their hunger for barbecuing at home, people have gone to some pretty extreme lengths. When faced with the absence of a grill, it seems barbecue enthusiasts have no limits to their creativity. If you have no grill, but you have your heart set on barbecuing at home, you might try one of these clever contraptions.

  • You could make a Swedish Fire Log. All you really need for this task is a log, a chainsaw and some charcoal briquettes. Cut the log almost all the way through in wedge-shaped pieces, much like a pizza, but leave the bottom intact so the log stays together. Put your briquettes in the middle of the wedges, light them, and use a cast iron skillet to cook on the “stove top” created by the top of the log.
  • It’s not too hard to build a brick grill. This shallow, Hibachi-style grill is perfect when you want to sear meat or poultry quickly, and it only requires about 20 bricks.
  • If you don’t have bricks, do you have a bucket? With a 5 gallon steel pail, a vent pipe, some insulation and a grill rack for the top, you can create your own rocket stove.
  • For those who can’t survive without one, there’s always a way to make a grill. Whether it’s by using a tin can or a little red wagon, a terra cotta pot or a backpacker’s grill rack, those determined to barbecue will always find a way.

If you’re not up for putting this much work into a simple thing like barbecuing at home, we totally understand. Good thing you can heat up Tony Roma’s pre-cooked ribs in the oven when there isn’t a grill handy! We’re all about avoiding the hassle when you’re barbecuing at home. Skip the Slow Cooker with Tony Roma’s Pulled BBQ Chicken ›

Tony Roma’s is a name you probably associate with ribs, and rightfully so. Our pre-cooked ribs are both succulent and convenient, and easy to prepare in only about 15 minutes, which makes them the perfect meal for most occasions. Tony Roma’s also has pulled barbecue chicken that can easily slide into your favorite recipes, making dinner a snap no matter what you’re craving.

  • Delicious Italian Pulled Chicken and Kale Sandwiches take no time at all with pre-cooked pulled chicken. Simply heat up marinara sauce, mix in chicken and kale, and then serve on buns, under melted mozzarella.
  • For a sweet and savory meal, try Apple BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwiches with Apple Slaw. You could cook the chicken with your own barbecue sauce in a slow cooker for up to 8 hours, or you can use Tony Roma’s and make your own slaw. The sweet and tart apple and cabbage slaw in a creamy maple Dijon dressing is the perfect complement to the perfect barbecued chicken.
  • If you’re ready for taco night with a twist, try Pulled Chicken Sandwiches with Barbecue Sauce. This recipe calls for homemade sauce, but Tony Roma’s pulled chicken is already marinated in the perfect sauce, so you’ll save several steps. All you’ll really need to do is heat the chicken, and serve it with corn tortillas and your favorite toppings - don’t forget the avocados!

What makes Tony Roma’s pulled chicken so appealing? It’s smoky and delicious, perfectly basted and made of white and dark meat chicken slow-cooked and hand-pulled from the bone. The best news is that it’s so easy to prepare, it can be ready for your family in minutes. Click here to find out where to buy Tony Roma’s products near you!
